Tehran exhibit to showcase Iranian illustrations selected for Bologna book fair

TEHRAN – A collection of Iranian illustrations, which was previously displayed at the 2015 Bologna Children’s Book Fair, will go on display at an exhibition in Tehran on Friday.

The exhibit entitled “Tehran-Bologna 2015” will be held at the Qasr Garden Museum.
Four Iranian publishers and three illustrators attended the fair, which was held in the Italian city from March 30 to April 4.

The exhibition manager of Bologna Children’s Book Fair, Roberta Chinni, is also expected to attend the exhibit, the Persian service of ISNA reported on Tuesday.

Works by Brazilian artist Roger Mello, winner of the 2014 Hans Christian Andersen Illustrator Award will also go on exhibit on the sidelines of the fair.

In addition, a selection of Iranian illustrations displayed in the previous ten editions of the fair will be displayed.

Blue Bird Books, which is Elmi Farhangi Publishing Company’s division for children’s books, the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA), the Iran Cultural Fairs Institute (ICFI) and the Shabaviz Publishing Company offered their latest books at the fair this year.

Works by three Iranian artists Fereshteh Najafi, Narges Mohammadi and Fatemeh Qasemi were also showcased at the Illustrators’ Exhibition, on the sidelines of the book fair.

The exhibit has been arranged by Ali Buzari, the manager of Iran’s pavilion at the Bologna Book Fair 2015, and will be running until May 14 at the Garden Museum located on Motahhari St., Police Square.
